A mall on the far side of the river
ICONSIAM stands on the Thonburi bank of the Chao Phraya, along Charoen Nakhon Road — the opposite side of the river from the Sukhumvit and Silom hotels most visitors know. From Pattaya that means crossing central Bangkok and then a bridge, so plan on the usual two to two and a half hours, and a little longer if you arrive into the Friday evening rush. Your driver deals with the expressway exits and the one-way streets; you watch the towers along the river come into view.
Inside, it is a very large mall spread over many floors: international brands, Thai designers, restaurants with river views and a cinema. The part first-timers tend to remember is SookSiam, an indoor food and crafts hall laid out like a floating market, with stalls cooking dishes from different regions of Thailand. Arrive hungry and save room.
Shopping bags, suitcases and the ride back
The real reason to book a van Pattaya to ICONSIAM instead of a bus and a city taxi shows up at the end of the day. You come out with bags, perhaps a stroller and some tired children, and you want one vehicle you already know rather than a taxi queue. Tell us in chat what you have in mind and we suggest the simplest shape for it: a one-way drop, a separate pickup at a fixed time, or the same van and driver staying with you. Waiting time and return trips are priced in chat before you go, so the evening holds no surprises.
- Send the time you want to walk in, and we set the Pattaya pickup to match
- Checking into a Bangkok hotel afterwards? Your luggage simply stays in the van until you get there
- Agree the pickup at the same entrance where you were dropped, so nobody hunts for the car
- Riverside traffic is slow on weekend evenings; leave a margin if you have a dinner booking
One price, agreed before anyone gets in
ICONSIAM is not on our standard rate table, so we quote it for you: send your Pattaya pickup address, the date, how many people and what happens after the mall, and we confirm one fixed price for the whole vehicle in chat before the trip. Tolls and fuel are included, there is no deposit, and you pay the driver in cash when you arrive. Nothing is paid online and nothing is added on the day.
Two people with a couple of carry-ons are comfortable in a sedan. Families and groups of friends usually take the Toyota Commuter, with nine proper seats and space for eight bags — useful on a Van Pattaya to ICONSIAM day that tends to end with more luggage than it started with. If you only need a straight transfer to a hotel elsewhere in the city, see our Pattaya to Bangkok page.
