Around the top of the Gulf to the quiet side of Hua Hin
On a map, Pranburi looks close to Pattaya — just across the water. By road it is not. There is no bridge over the Gulf of Thailand, so the drive loops up around the edge of Bangkok and back down the western coast, past Hua Hin and a little further south. Plan on roughly five hours, more on a holiday weekend. That is a proper travel day, and it is the reason a group heading to a beach resort is better off in one private vehicle than juggling buses and transfers.
A Van Pattaya to Pranburi ride picks you up at your Pattaya hotel or villa and takes you to the door of your resort. Want a lunch stop on the way, a supermarket run for the villa fridge, or a toilet break every couple of hours for the kids? Just tell the driver. Children cope best when the day has a rhythm: snacks, a nap, a stop to stretch their legs, then the last stretch to the sea.
Pak Nam Pran, the mangroves and Sam Roi Yot
Pranburi is a district of Prachuap Khiri Khan, the same province as Hua Hin. Its beaches around Pak Nam Pran are lined with small resorts and pool villas rather than high-rises, which is exactly why people choose it. Nearby, Pranburi Forest Park has a boardwalk through the mangroves, and further south Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park is known for its limestone hills and Phraya Nakhon Cave. When you want Hua Hin's restaurants and night markets, they are back up the road to the north.
- Leave Pattaya early so you arrive in daylight and in time for check-in
- Send the resort name and a map pin, as some sit down small beach roads
- Bring snacks, water and a phone charger for the long stretch

Fitting a holiday's worth of luggage
Beach holidays come with a lot of stuff: suitcases, a stroller, snorkel bags, sometimes a cool box. The Toyota Commuter van seats nine and takes eight bags, which suits two families sharing a villa. A couple can take a sedan, and up to four people fit the Innova or Fortuner. The price is for the whole vehicle, includes tolls and fuel, and is fixed in chat before the trip, so the cost of a van Pattaya to Pranburi transfer is settled before anyone packs. Stopping in Hua Hin itself instead? See our Pattaya to Hua Hin route. Either way, you pay the driver in cash at the end.
Going home at the end of the holiday is just as simple. Book the return in the same chat with your resort check-out time, and we plan the pick-up so you are not waiting in the lobby with sandy feet. Flying out of Bangkok rather than heading back to Pattaya? Tell us that too and we quote that leg instead.
