Send us the address, not just the road
Ratchadaphisek Road runs a long way through Bangkok, and when people say Ratchada they usually mean the stretch from Rama 9 up through Huai Khwang towards Lat Phrao. Along it are hotels, serviced apartments, condo towers, office blocks, malls and the Thailand Cultural Centre, with the MRT running underneath. Two addresses that both say “Ratchada” can sit a fair distance apart, and with U-turns and service roads, arriving on the wrong side can cost real time.
So the most useful thing you can send us is the exact address, a map pin, or the building name in Thai if you have it. The driver then goes to the entrance itself, not a corner somewhere nearby. With luggage, that difference is the whole point of booking a van Pattaya to Ratchada instead of a bus and a taxi. Not sure of the Thai spelling? A screenshot of your booking confirmation or the building’s map listing is enough.
Moving in, checking in, or here for work
People head to Ratchada for different reasons, and each one changes the booking a little. Moving into a condo? Tell us how many boxes and suitcases there are; the Toyota Commuter takes nine people and eight bags, and if you are fewer people with more boxes, we will tell you honestly what fits. Checking into a hotel? Give us the time and we suggest a departure that does not leave you waiting in the lobby. Meeting someone for business? We build in a margin for the city’s traffic.
- Share a map pin for condos with several towers or side entrances
- Let building security know you are arriving if they need a heads-up
- Going out again the same evening? The MRT under the road is the easy way around the city
- Need an airport ride later in your stay? We can quote it in the same chat
A fixed price before you leave Pattaya
There is no published fare for Ratchada, so the price for your van Pattaya to Ratchada trip is confirmed in chat before the trip — one fixed figure for the whole vehicle, tolls and fuel included. Smaller cars are available for one or two people. You pay your driver in cash when you arrive, and there is no deposit to book.
Plan on two to two and a half hours into Bangkok, and more at rush hour. If you want to stop on the way, collect someone else in the city, or have the driver wait and bring you back, those are priced in chat before you go. For rides to other parts of the capital, our Pattaya to Bangkok page has the general picture. If several of you are going to different buildings along the road, list the stops in order and we price the extra drop-offs in chat before you go.
