Siam is a cluster of doors, so name yours
"Siam" covers a small area with a lot packed into it. Siam Paragon, Siam Center and Siam Discovery stand side by side along Rama I Road, Siam Square fills the blocks opposite with smaller shops and cafes, MBK Center is at one end and centralwOrld a short walk the other way. The BTS Siam station, where the Skytrain lines cross, sits above it all. Chulalongkorn University's campus lies just to the south, and Siam Square is where students come after class, so the area stays busy from late morning until the malls close.
Because every building has its own entrance and its own drop-off lane, "Siam, please" is not enough. Send us the name of the mall or hotel, and if your hotel is on a side street, the map pin too. Your driver will pull up at that door, not somewhere on the main road with four lanes of traffic to cross.
Suitcases and the Skytrain do not mix
Siam is easy to move around on foot and by train once you are there. Getting there with luggage is another story: escalators, crowds at the interchange, and a walk along a busy skywalk with a suitcase in each hand. That is where a van earns its price. Your bags ride in the back, and you step out in front of the hotel lobby where a porter can take over.
It works the other way round too. Staying somewhere else in Bangkok and fancy one last shopping day at Siam before heading back to the coast? The van can collect you at your hotel, bring you to the mall and carry the bags home to Pattaya afterwards. Tell us the plan and the price comes back in the same chat.
- Checking in? Give us the hotel's full name, as several have similar ones nearby
- Arriving before check-in time? Most hotels will hold your bags while you shop
- Coming back with shopping? Ask for the return ride in the same chat
- Travelling at rush hour? Leave a little earlier, Rama I Road slows to a crawl
What the fixed fare covers
A Van Pattaya to Siam ride is ฿1,900 one way for the whole Toyota Commuter van, with up to nine people and eight bags, tolls and fuel included. A couple or a small family may not need the full van: smaller cars start from ฿1,200. Either way you pay the driver in cash after the ride, and there is no deposit to book. Nine seats also means nobody ends up with a suitcase on their lap.
The drive is the standard run into central Bangkok, two to two and a half hours depending on traffic. If you want the driver to wait while you shop and bring you home the same evening, that is priced in chat before you go. For other drop-offs around the city, see our Pattaya to Bangkok page; for the shops and hotels around Rama I Road, a van Pattaya to Siam gets you right to the door.
