Which part of Soi 55?
Thonglor is Sukhumvit Soi 55, a long road running north from Sukhumvit with dozens of smaller numbered side streets off it. It is one of Bangkok’s smarter neighbourhoods: restaurants, cafes, cocktail bars, boutique hotels and a lot of serviced apartments and condos, with Ekkamai next door and the BTS Thong Lo station down at the Sukhumvit end. Because the road is so long, “Thonglor” on its own is not enough for a driver.
So when you book, send the building name and the side-street number (for example Thonglor Soi 10), or better still a map pin. With that, your driver goes straight to your lobby rather than circling the side streets looking for it. It also helps to mention if the building has a drop-off area or a security gate.
The same goes if you are heading to a restaurant or bar rather than a bed. Many of the best-known places sit down the small lanes, not on the main road, and the name of the venue plus the soi number is all the driver needs to get you right to the door.
Suitcases, condo lobbies and a fixed fare
The van Pattaya to Thonglor fare is ฿1,900 for the whole Toyota Commuter, the same as anywhere in central Bangkok, and it covers tolls and fuel. The drive is two to two and a half hours, with Sukhumvit traffic making the difference between the two. You are not paying per person or per bag; nine seats and room for eight suitcases are yours.
That matters more than it sounds. Couples moving between a Pattaya condo and a Bangkok one often travel with far more than a weekend bag — golf clubs, a computer bag, shopping from Pattaya. If it is just two of you and two cases, a sedan is cheaper at ฿1,200. Anything more and the van saves you squeezing.
- Send a map pin or the exact Thonglor soi number with your booking
- Checking in late? Tell us, and we time the pick-up so you arrive when reception is ready
- Heading to a dinner booking first? We can drop you at the restaurant with your bags in the van — ask for that in chat
Coming back down to Pattaya, too
Plenty of people split their time between Bangkok and the coast, and the trip works just as well in reverse. Book the ride back from your Thonglor building to Pattaya the same way, by WhatsApp, LINE or the form. Return trips, waiting time and a stop on the way are priced in chat before you go.
If you are staying elsewhere on Sukhumvit and only coming to Thonglor to eat, see the Pattaya to Sukhumvit page instead. For an apartment, a hotel or a night out in this part of town, Van Pattaya to Thonglor takes you door to door, no deposit, and you pay the driver in cash when you arrive.
